Meets NEC Electrical Code 2023 406.5E for Installation in Countertops
This pop-up meets 2017, 2020, and 2023 NEC 406.5E for kitchen countertop installations in the USA and Canada. The single duplex GFCI outlet has tamper-proof plugs and is listed as UL 498. The pop-up has passed the UL 498 half-gallon spill test and endurance, mechanical load, dielectric voltage, and temperature tests. There is also a gasket under the bezel to keep liquids from entering the sides between the countertop and the base of the pop-up.
Easy to Thread on Lock Nut Installation with a Shallow Depth
The pop-up only needs 1.97” of space under a 3cm countertop and requires a 4 1/8” x 4 1/8” hole to be cut for installation. A plastic back box features a lock nut that makes it extremely easy to install, simply thread the lock nut on the box to secure it to the underside of the counter. The outlet does not have a power cord; simply hardwire power into the outlet by running it through the knockouts in the rear of the back box.
Tamper Proof 20A Power Outlet and USB A and C Charging Ports
The pop-up provides both a USB-A charging port and a USB-C charging port. There is a smart chip inside the outlet making the USB intelligent charging ports. The ports automatically adapt to the device being plugged in, and send the maximum amount of power the device can handle, ensuring it won't be over-charged.
The USB-A charging port is Quick Charge (QC) 3.0 rated and can provide up to 18 Watts of fast charging power.
The USB-C charging port is QC 3.0 and Power Deliver (PD 2.0) rated, it can charge devices at an incredibly fast rate, up to 20 Watts. The PD 2.0 not only allows users to charge phones and tablets but also laptops.
The outlet is 20 Amp rated, allowing the most power-hungry small appliances to be plugged in. The plugs are tamper resistant (TR) meeting code, and offer the peace of mind knowing that children can't put small objects into the sockets and electrocute themselves. The 20A outlet is backward compatible with 15A plugs, meaning that both 15A plugs and 20A plugs, can be plugged into the outlet.
