Simply place the Color Template behind the clear glass and in front of the Screwgard gasket to achieve a clean, professional finish with no mess or drying time.

Each template is precision-cut for a perfect fit and made in the USA using durable, high-quality colored stock for consistent, vibrant results.

Important: A Screwgard gasket is required when using Color Templates and must be installed for proper use.

Screwgard Color Templates & Installation Guide

These Color Templates are designed to fit behind your clear glass switch plate and in front of the Screwgard gasket, eliminating the need to paint the back of the glass.

⚠️ Important: You must use a Screwgard Paintable Gasket when using Color Templates.

Step 1: Remove Protective Film

Peel off the blue plastic film from the gasket. This protects the paintable surface before use.

Step 2: Paint the Gasket (Optional)

Use spray paint with light, even coats, allowing drying time between coats
Or brush on latex paint for easier control
Apply multiple light coats for best results

Step 3: Let Paint Dry Completely

Ensure the gasket is fully dry before installation.

Step 4: Position the Gasket

Place the painted side of the Screwgard gasket behind the glass plate so the color shows through.
✔️ No need to paint the glass itself.

Using Color Templates (No Painting Required)

If you prefer not to paint:

Use our Color Templates—precision-cut colored cardstock inserts
Designed to match your exact switch plate configuration
Simply place the template behind the glass and in front of the gasket

Final Assembly

Layer the components in this order:

Option 1 (Painted Gasket):
Glass Plate → Painted Screwgard Gasket

Option 2 (Color Template):
Glass Plate → Color Template → Screwgard Gasket

Then:

Align with the electrical receptacle
Insert screws through the front
Tighten gently

⚠️ Do NOT over-tighten — glass can crack. Tighten just enough for a secure fit.
