This is a true brushed nickel metal. There are over 40 different Brushed Nickel Switch Plate finishes on the market today. They could be from Delta Faucets, American Standard, Moen, or many others, but they all have their own finish which they call "Brushed Nickel." They all have their own characteristics, and this can be a problem when trying to match a particular finish to somthing you already have installed.
At Arnev Products, we have chosen a Brushed Nickel switch plate finish that will compliment most everything available. We know you will love the finish and color of our products. We have the most electrical configurations of switchplate covers of anyone in the USA. But best of all, these are all manufactured in the USA, just like all our metal switchplate covers.

What is the difference between a Satin Nickel finish and Brushed Nickel finish?
Brushed means the switch plates have been "Wire Brushed" with directional lines so the abrasion can be seen. This is how our Brushed Nickel Switch plate finish appears.
In "Satin Nickel" the appearance is satin or velvety in appearance, and shows no marks or lines from abrasion. These switchplates are not Satin Nickel, they are Brushed Nickel metal with these abrasive brush strokes, lacquer finished, and they are dull in appearance. We know you will love our switchplates.

All our switchplates are referred to as a mid-sized part. They are a bit larger than the standard size, but not over-sized. Having them a bit larger usually covers up any irregularities that could have occurred when the dry wall was cut for the electrical box openings, which does occur quite often. Also, this would cover up any outlines, or paint or wallpaper color differences left by the old light switch cover. However, they are not so oversized that they don't fit into the space usually allotted for the standard sizes.
